Corn Gluten Meal does contain protein but not the kind of protein that cats digest very well. Cats have to eat twice as much corn to get the same amount of protein that they would from animal proteins.
Chicken is a good source of protein, low in fat, low in sodium and is a low-carb food.
Wheat Flour is standard white flour, and has no place in the diet of a cat. While it may contain some fiber, its not enough to outweigh the complications it may cause. This is used as a filler in pet food.
Brewers Rice offers very little nutritional value. The only nutrition that Brewers Rice does offer is carbohydrates which cats do not need.
Ground Yellow Corn may provide some beneficial nutrients to cats, but is not biologically appropriate. Corn is difficult to digest and pales in comparison to animal protein. Corn used as the primary ingredient in cat food is an inexpensive source of calories.

Soybean Meal is a common source of protein in many cat foods because it is less expensive than meat proteins. Soy contains enzyme inhibitors that have been known to produce serious gastric distress, reduced protein digestion and chronic deficiencies in amino acid uptake in cats.

Is Purina Pro Plan A Good Cat Food?
Purina Pro Plan cat food is an average cat food with questionable fillers, corn meals and animal by-product meals and tends to be high in carbohydrates. I would not recommend Purina Pro Plan’s dry cat foods for your cat or kitten for those reasons.
When comparing to other store bought brands in the same price range, Purina Pro Plan maybe competitive but still not a high quality contender.
The Purina Pro Plan canned and wet cat foods would be a better choice and do contain less fillers and and meals. While they do offer more protein and better quality meats, they are still high in carbohydrates.
We also recommend using Petlibro Granary Automatic Pet Feeder to portion you cat’s food portions correctly to avoid over feeding your cat that may results in diseases like Feline Diabetes if not addressed early on.
Where Is Purina Pro Plan Cat Food Sold?
Purina Pro Plan Cat Foods are available in most pet stores, grocery store chains and big box stores, although varieties may vary. You can also purchase Purina Pro Plan online through Amazon, Chewy, and various pet food retailers.
