I’m constantly looking at brands’ offerings as a shopping editor, so of course my wishlist is not only super long but forever expanding. There’s one brand that’s been especially present on this list and it’s not one I was expecting. While I might not be an exercise junkie, Athleta’s selection caught my eye. If you, too, are curious about what to buy at Athleta, don’t sweat it because I’m about to share my top picks.

First of all, if you’re like me and not super into working out, that doesn’t mean you can’t or shouldn’t be shopping from activewear brands like Athleta. I think it’s actually a smart move since clothing that’s made for exercise tends to be made from superior fabrics. The materials are oftentimes superior in quality, durability, breathability, and comfortability. If I’m deciding between a tiny black skirt that’s made from a cheap material versus one that’s made from recycled polyester and spandex, you know which option is going straight into my cart.

Not to mention, so many brands that are known for their purely functional activewear have a slew of more lifestyle offerings that you can wear just about anywhere. Athleta is definitely one of those brands—I mean just look at the Santorini Maxi Dress and the Retreat Wide Leg Linen Pant (I’m obsessed).

Check out Athleta’s site whether you’re on the hunt for your next go-to pair of gym leggings or a dress that’s comfy enough to wear all day long. Keep scrolling for what to buy at Athleta, according to me, a shopping editor who’s never not browsing pages upon pages of products online.

Ever since last summer, I’ve been trying to get my hands on a pair of linen pants. However, the biggest problem I encountered was sizing. What options are there for folks on the shorter side? Athleta’s Retreat Wide Leg Linen Pant. It comes in five colorways, a wide array of sizes, and three size ranges: Regular, Tall, and Petite.

The Brooklyn Heights Wide Leg Jumpsuit is the definition of versatile. You can throw it on for work, travel, lounging, or running errands and look so put-together and chic. Your outfit decision just got a whole lot easier thanks to this do-it-all number.

I thrifted a dress with a similar silhouette to this one and have been wanting another version in different colors. I think I might’ve just found its near-perfect match in the Santorini Maxi Dress. It’s airy, flowy, and can easily be dressed up or down.

I’ve been trying to track down the perfect grey racerback tank, and this one from Athleta looks like it could be in the running. Not to mention, it’s made from recycled polyester, nylon, and spandex, so it already has a leg up on its counterparts. Not a fan of light gray tanks? There are eight other fab colors to choose from in sizes XXS through 3X.

I’m always game for a one-shoulder top, and this tank it the kind of shirt I could see myself wearing on repeat all summer long. Style it with jeans, shorts, skirts, or leggings—the options are endless!

I’m not a big hat person, but when I do wear one, it has to be a bucket hat. What makes this one stand out among my small collection? It’s made from 100 percent recycled polyester that’s water-resistant and will stand the test of time. Brownie points go to its adjustable cord in the back. How often are you going to come across a bucket hat that lets you customize the fit?

I’m a firm believer that everyone needs an LBD—that is, a long black dress—in their spring and summer wardrobes. They’re so easy to style in any direction, especially when you’re in a rush and have no clue what to wear.

I’m also a firm believer in sporting activewear for a night out. I already have a stretchy, plain black skirt with a crossover waist that doubles as a going-out garment, and I’ve never felt so comfortable while in sweaty, claustrophobic bars. The Ace Tennis Skort reminds me of my beloved, versatile skirt. It’s breathable, wicking, and the fabric dries fast so if you’re getting down on the dance floor or someone accidentally splashes a bit of their drink on you, at least you know your skort will survive.
