Tarte Creaseless Creamy Concealer A Real Review

Well, I knew that Tarte Creaseless Creamy Concealer was overhyped as hell but I purchased it anyway only to be disappointed. Creaseless Creamy Concealer is the latest concealer launch from Tarte that’s a newly formulated version of the original, drier Creaseless Concealer. Tiktokers have been raving about this for a little bit now saying how it has skincare benefits and that the shade range is a HUGE improvement over past releases, etc…etc..! Ya know, the normal buzz words that gets us all excited (or maybe it just gets me excited?!). It didn’t take me long to be influenced and when Tarte decided to do a deal where you get the concealer plus a free full-size concealer brush I decided to purchase it.
And of course, I was disappointed.

In 2018, re-released a newly formulated Tarte Creaseless Concealer and there was a bit of buzz around it. Of course, I purchased it and tried it out only to hate it as much as I hated the original formula. It’s just a formula for me. It’s dry, it creases, and it ages my eyes horribly. Thanks but no thanks.
More recently, we got the new Tarte Creaseless Creamy Concealer which promises full coverage with almost 60% skincare ingredients like Vitamin C, maracuja oil, niacinamide, and more. Add in the 34 shade range and 6 undertones and the hyped was real. Blur fine lines, hide dark circles, make skin smoother, hydrating, natural looking, all the best buzz words were included in the marketing and all the Tiktokers out there knew exactly how to throw them into the mix to get concealer loves like me excited.
I couldn’t purchase my normal Shape Tape Concealer shade in the Creaseless Creamy Concealer as it isn’t available so I went with 29N which is a light-medium neutral for light to medium skin with a balance of warm and cool tones. Sadly, Tarte’s concealers always run a bit too light in the light-medium range and I struggle getting the perfect shade down as if I head into the medium shades it’s too dark and if I stay in the light-medium ones it’s too light. I do have a fairly good pick for Shape Tape Concealer Collection but in their other concealers I struggle. So much for have a wide selection of shades. But I made this shade work for me. I use concealer strictly under my eyes so my reviewed in based off that area. I have puffiness, finer lines, and I just look tired without concealer under my eyes. I use concealer to brighten the area up and conceal finer lines and puffiness. This is 0.225 oz in size and $30 and the original is 0.23 oz at the same price although, it was $26 back in 2018.
I do think this formula is different from the original. It’s creamy and not to thick but isn’t as emollient as the original and feels lighter and a touch more hydrating with less coverage. Facts is facts, when it comes to hydrating concealers you can always expect to lose some coverage. They simply are not as pigmented as matte ones in my experience. This is a bit sheerer but it still has excellent coverage. Not the full coverage you’d get from Shape Tape nor the coverage of the original Creaseless Concealer but it’s about medium coverage which is good. That being said, it isn’t THAT hydrating either which is perhaps why you’re getting more pigment from it.
Shade Swatched: 29N
This blended easily enough under my eyes and had a smooth finish initially but as the day wore on it did crease and fall into my finer lines. I’d say it took about three hours to get to the creasing point even when it was set with powder. It’s sadly, not an all day wear concealer either. I got about six hours of wear from it before it disappears leaving me with little bits of it creased into my finer lines. I also, just didn’t like the way it looked under my eyes from the first application. It just didn’t quite give me that flawless look I want from my concealer. I can’t describe why as it does look smooth and blends well but it just didn’t quite look right under my eyes. Eh…!
Tarte Creaseless Creamy Concealer is sadly an overhyped release. I wish I could have gotten my hands on the mini version but it hasn’t come into stock. I suspect they are just waiting for people to buy the larger sizes and after a few weeks they’ll finally let the mini versions drop. Sadly, Tarte releases quite a few foundations and concealers throughout the year but they always feel like the same formula with a few minor changes. They haven’t quite captured the magic of Shape Tape Concealer with all their other concealers in my opinion. I love and use Shape Concealer regularly but their other formulas simply can’t compare.
Tarte Creaseless Creamy Concealer is available now but you might want to check it out in stores before purchasing online. Tried it? Do share!

Tarte Creaseless Creamy Concealer is a newly formulated version of the original Creaseless Concealer with a formula that has skincare ingredients Like bakuchiol, niacinamide, and Vitamin C. I thought the formula was a little less emollient then the original with a light, creamy consistency that felt lightly hydrating. It applies smooth and blends easily but it never felt like it sat well under my eyes and it did crease within a few hours of wear and did wear away within a few more hours after that. It’s surprisingly pigmented for a hydrating concealer BUT keep in mind, it isn’t super moisturizing or user friendly for those of us with finer lines.

Pigmented, medium coverage.
Nice applicator, slides easily across the eye area.

Tarte Creaseless Creamy Concealer may work for someone with perfectly smooth eyes but anyone with finer lines may find it creases.
