Why Isn’t There a Real RHONJ Reunion For Season 14?

Bravo fans, you are in a treat. The Real Housewives of New Jersey isn’t having a normal reunion, but one that’s split into two because the drama can’t be fixed.

As to what actually happened, there’s absolutely nothing that could amend Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga’s relationship. With the sister-in-laws beefing and the cast split right down the middle with their allegiances, there’s little that the network could do to save them. Will there be a reboot? Andy Cohen might have an answer.

Andy Cohen hinted that Bravo fans will be content with the direction of the er…RHONJ not reunion-reunion. “I think you’re gonna really like the finale… I mean the reunion that’s not a reunion,” he said on his Sirius XM radio show Radio Andy. “It’s kind of a soft landing for the show, let me say that. Did kind of feel like a series, didn’t it?” He continued, “This final epic group encounter feels like the Last Supper and is just so Jersey. When you see it, I think that you’ll feel complete. I really do.”

Why isn’t there a real RHONJ Reunion for season 14?

Tensions were reportedly running really high that a normal reunion for the RHONJ cast was not an option. Instead, two groups were split up to do watch parties in different rooms for the reunion. Team Teresa comprised of Jennifer Aydin and Jackie Goldschneider, while Team Melissa comprised of Margaret Josephs, Rachel Fuda, Danielle Cabral, and “friend” Jennifer Fessler. Dolores Catania went between both rooms.

As the finale approached, sources told Us Weekly that a normal reunion wasn’t in the cards. “Teresa and Melissa are holding the show hostage,” the source explained. “Everyone has been forced to choose sides and not have any real interaction.” Another source added, “A dramatic all-cast dinner in the season finale will make it clear to the audience that there is no path forward in a reunion setting.”

Andy Cohen and producers were certain of the decision ever since the tensions rose. “When all of us producers saw the last cut of the finale, we all came to the decision separately and then we talked,” he said on his radio show. “We all had the same thought, which is the finale is kind of the finale and the reunion all in one. It’s in the great tradition of absolute shocking, dramatic Jersey finales and they have this final epic group encounter, which is like, it feels like the Last Supper and is just so Jersey.  And it’s shocking and it’s dramatic and it’s amazing TV. I’m telling you, when you see it, I think that you’ll feel complete.”
