The narrative surrounding Love is Blind Season 7 has been all over the place. Between Tyler lying about having kids, Tim breaking up with Alex out of nowhere and the fact that only two couples got married in the end when seven couples got engaged in the pods, it’s fair to say this season of the show has been one of the wildest to date. But fans have especially fixated on the latest breakup, that of Marissa and Ramses.
It was, after all, perhaps the most unexpected breakup from this season of Love is Blind. The two seemed one of the strongest couples coming out of the pods and though they had their issues and red flags, they seemed to get over them and were getting ready for the wedding. That is until Ramses just blindsided Marissa with the revelation that he didn’t want to go through with it.

The conversation was long and very emotional, with Ramses unable to give Marissa a clear answer as to why he didn’t want to get married, and Marissa was understandably devasted. In the end, even though the two are breaking up, they hug as Marissa asks him if he’s sure. It’s at that moment that eagle-eyed viewers noticed something. Or, they thought they did.
After the episode was released Reddit and X exploded with speculation that Ramses was wearing a thong during that last scene between the two of them. A silly question, to be sure, but when things are as devastating as that scene was, people will fixate on whatever makes it easier to process. Reddit users seem convinced the answer is yes, but it’s most likely no. Comments on Reddit ranged from “Pretty sure it’s a thong” to “I literally took screenshots trying to justify that I was just seeing things. Netflix was sneaky enough to give us a sneak peak into what he was wearing but not too much. So it becomes a trending hot gossip topic. We see you, Netflix 😜,” without forgetting “yall need to stop, let the guy be sexy on his breakup lol (i mean it though, men can rock a thong if they want to!)”

However, upon closer inspection, fans realized Ramses wasn’t actually wearing a thong. It was just the mic. “It’s the microphone pack under his crop top 😭 but I saw a thong at first too,” another user said. “Those are definitely red briefs and a mic pack? Are you guys looking at his lower back and thinking it’s his butt cheeks?” someone even asked.
“It’s the mic pack band. The other part probably just slipped down giving the appearance of a strand of fabric. The red line is his underwear. But honestly, if it was a thong, who cares. It’s not that serious,” a third user said.
And it is true, it’s not really that serious. But considering how devastating the scene was, it’s easy to see why people fixated on the possible thong instead of the heartbreak.
