Some animals come into our lives unexpectedly, making their arrival even more special. One evening, a couple was on their way to pick up pizza for dinner when they passed through a construction zone. Behind a metal fence, they spotted a little Ginger kitten that looked very sick. Without hesitation, they knew they had to help the poor creature. Fearing the kitten might run away, they were surprised when he actually ran towards them. They carefully picked him up and took him straight to the vet.
The kitten was in poor condition—malnourished, covered in fleas and dirt, and suffering from an eye infection that had caused one eye to close. The vet informed them that his chances of survival were not great. Despite this, they were determined to give him a fighting chance. They took him home and followed the vet’s advice, feeding him every 3 to 4 hours around the clock. It was a tough and challenging period, but they persevered.
In time, the kitten, aptly named Pizza, made a remarkable recovery. He became perfectly healthy, happy, and full of life. Pizza was incredibly sweet and loved to communicate with his eyes, expressing his feelings in the most endearing ways.
However, the couple noticed that since they were both often busy with work, Pizza spent a lot of time alone. They decided that he might benefit from having a companion. While searching online, they came across a rescue cat ready for a new home and decided to adopt her without hesitation.
The introduction between Pizza and the new cat was done gradually, and when they finally met, there was an immediate positive energy between them. Both cats were curious and gentle with each other, forming a unique bond. Coming from similar backgrounds, having both been rescued from the streets, they seemed to share an understanding and a connection.
The woman, who had grown up with dogs her entire life, had little experience with cats before adopting Pizza. She learned everything about felines, from slow blinking as a sign of affection to their unique behaviors. This experience gave her a newfound appreciation and love for cats, and she couldn’t believe she hadn’t had one earlier in her life.

As for Pizza’s name, it was inspired by their original plan to get pizza for dinner the night they found him. They joked about calling him “Pizza” since he came into their lives when they were on their way to get one. In the end, they never did get the pizza for dinner that night—but they did get a wonderful new friend.
