How Jennifer Lopez Changed During Ben Affleck Marriage Amid Divorce Rumors

This is the real her. Jennifer Lopez talked about her lifestyle changes amid her marriage to Ben Affleck. The “On The Floor” singer gushed about how she’s taking a step back during the Atlas premiere.

J-Lo talked to AP about how her life is going at a steady pace versus her past. “Over the past few years, I tried to slow down more and be home more.” She detailed that she’s “been doing things that are really exciting” or “inspiring” instead of just “doing just everything.”

Sterling K. Brown joked, “This is you…pared down. You’re a hustler, baby!” to which J-Lo agreed. “As much as it seems going at a fever pace, I’m actually going at half the pace I was a few years ago.”

The interview came in the midst of J-Lo divorce speculation with Ben Affleck. A source recently told Us Weekly, that her work habits made the Air star “worn down” by their marriage. “Jennifer had started ramping up her work commitments and prepping for her tour,” says the source. “She’s very focused on work and overextends herself.”

J-Lo and Ben met in 2001 on the set of their movie, Gigli, in which they played love interests. They started dating in 2002, around the time Ben also starred as the love interest in the music video for J-Lo’s song, “Jenny From the Block.”

In November 2002, Affleck proposed to J-Lo with a 6.1-carat pink diamond ring from Harry Winston, and the two got engaged. Two days before they were scheduled to tie the knot in September 2003, J-Lo and Affleck announced that they had postponed their wedding and eventually called it off. Affleck moved on with Jennifer Garner and had three children together, Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12. The two separated in 2015 and had their divorce finalized in 2018.

J-Lo and Ben got engaged for a second time in April 2022 and married in July 2022 at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada and had a second wedding at Ben’s estate in Georgia. “We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient,” J-Lo wrote in her newsletter, On the JLo, at the time. She continued, “They were right when they said, ‘all you need is love’.”
