Hello world! My name is Amanda, a Senior Content Manager here at Hepper. I have two live-in co-workers. One, a timid yet boisterous Chihuahua rescue; a certified nap-taker who only wakes to eat or bark at the neighbors out walking their dogs. And Blue, a fluffy fire point Himalayan Persian blend with the kindest heart, always looking to be part of the action, demanding 24-hour attention.
Blue is an integral part of my workday. A true work bestie! She never calls in sick, always shows up to our Zoom meetings (although she’s often fashionably late and comes with a lot to say), and she allows me to bounce ideas off of her as long as I give her butt pats simultaneously. She contributes to my Slack chats by walking on my keyboard when I’m not around and is the best listener, mainly attributed to her being fast asleep on my desk for the majority of the day, but it still counts. Truly, everything a girl could ask for in a supportive colleague.
Blue remains unbothered by the bustles of the day in her cozy bed, set up right next to my keyboard, yet she’s always ready to offer a head nudge or slow blink when I need them. But it wasn’t always that way. Finding her the right desk bed came with a unique set of challenges; the beds were too big, unshapely, not sturdy enough, and many she refused to even lay a paw in. Luckily, our Hepper Nest bed was everything she dreamed of and more. If I am at work, so is she—representing Hepper like the hard worker she is. We are two office peas in a cubicle pod.
Blue loves her Hepper bed!
Becoming Blue
We adopted Blue over a decade ago and she has brought so much joy, laughter, and airborne cat hair into our lives. Presumably, most of my fellow cat owners can relate, she’s timely and consistent when it comes to her breakfast and dinner, must have her place in our bed at night, and makes it her duty to investigate anything and everything. I’ve been extremely lucky to have shared my home with a few doting cats before Blue, but she’s something special. Her desire to be social is in a raging war with her cautious instincts. If you are willing to offer her a lap and some scratches, she will graciously take it.
In her 11 years, she experienced quite an exciting life – adapting to the world as she grew, we moved and our family expanded. Blue accepted my babies as loud, messy siblings, offering comfort and allowing them to tousle her fur whenever they want to. My favorite quality about her is that she’s present. Wherever we go, she goes. We move as a unit!
Future Endeavors
Every week, you’ll be invited into our home to learn more about Blue’s day-to-day, habits, and quirks. We’ll relive the growing pains and memorable moments of her adolescence and poke fun at the adorably silly things she does now that she’s reached her golden era.
