Jordan Heller, a 61-year-old Sales Manager from Riverwoods, Illinois, was one of 24 contestants on the first season of The Golden Bachelorette led by Joan Vassos. Joan, a 61-year-old Private School Administrator from Rockville, Maryland, was previously a contestant on Season 1 of The Golden Bachelor with Gerry Turner, where she sent herself home in 12th place in Week 3 to care for her daughter, who had a medical emergency.

Jordan had his first one-on-one date with Joan in Episode 4 of The Golden Bachelorette where the two danced in their own winter wonderland. “It’s a magical experience.” But unfortunately, Jordan and Joan didn’t last as Joan sent him home in fourth place after Hometown Dates in Week 6, according to Reality Steve. But his journey to love may not be over yet!

Is Jordan the next Golden Bachelor?

At the time of writing, ABC hasn’t announced the next Golden Bachelor. However, it’s unlikely that Jordan will be selected given that there are two fan-favorites ahead of him: Mark Anderson, a 57-year-old Army Veteran from Leesville, Louisiana, and Charles Ling, a 66-year-old Retired Financial Analyst from Malvern, Pennsylvania.

Charles L., who went home in Week 4, is the clear fan-favorite from Joan’s Golden Bachelorette season and the contestant who has the best chance of becoming the lead for The Golden Bachelor Season 2.

“NOOOOO NOT CHARLES L GOING HOME! I need to see him on DWTS or the Golden Bachelor. This can’t be the end 😭,” a user wrote on X after Charles L.’s elimination. Another user tweeted, “officially starting the campaign to makes Charles L the next golden bachelor!!!” One more user wrote, “I STG IF THEY DO NOT LISTEN TO US AND GIVE US A CHARLES L GOLDEN BACHELOR SEASON.”

Charles L. even has the support of host Jesse Palmer who recognized him as the most popular contestant to come from The Golden Bachelor due to his earnestness throughout Joan’s season and his readiness to find love again after the death of his wife six years prior. “He’s a national treasure. I knew that from the very first date card drop off when I was trying to explain how the dates work, and if you go on a one-on-one date, you don’t get a rose, you gotta pack your bag,” Palmer told Us Weekly in October 2024, calling Charles L. “so sincere” and “organic.” “He asked me to re-explain everything again, but that’s who he is.”

He continued, “I totally get why America has fallen so hard for Charles L. He’s legendary. I love the guy.” Charles L., for his part, also told Entertainment Weekly that he’d consider becoming the Golden Bachelor if the role was offered to him. “Oh, boy. It is a new idea to me. Let me see. If the opportunity knocks on my door, I’ll consider,” he said.

Mark, who went home in seventh place, was also a clear fan-favorite to become the next Golden Bachelor even before The Golden Bachelorette aired. After Reality Steve’s spoiler in August 2024 that Mark didn’t win The Golden Bachelorette, fans started campaigning for him to be the next Golden Bachelor. Him being the father of The Bachelor Season 28 winner Kelsey Anderson also helps his case.

“Kelsey’s dad as the NEXT GOLDEN BACHELOR PLEASE!!” a user commented on Reality Steve’s Instagram post of Joan’s Golden Bachelorette finale spoilers. Another user wrote, “Kelsey’s dad better be golden bachelor!” One more user commented, “Now I am so open to Kelsey’s Dad being our next Golden Bachelor!🥳”

Kelsey, who is engaged to Season 28 Bachelor Joey Graziadei, also supports her father becoming the Golden Bachelor. “If that’s what he wants to do, I would fully support him,” she told Us Weekly. “I think that my dad has grown so much through this journey of The Golden Bachelorette. So, yeah, I would 100 percent be excited for him and support him.” She continued, “I think that he grew a lot from it and I’m just really proud of him. I’m also really thankful for Joan in helping my dad through all of this.”

However, it’s not impossible for Jordan to become the Golden Bachelor. If Mark and Charles L. turn the opportunity down, Jordan is in a prime spot to be selected as the next lead, given the many Bachelor and Bachelorettes who are eliminated in fourth place from their respective seasons. Those include Season 23 Bachelor Colton Underwood and Season 20 Bachelorette Charity Lawson.
