Finally! It Cosmetics got the memo we sent out about Confidence in a Cream and has introduced a new fragrance-free formula! Well, technically it isn’t the original formula but a new one but hey, it’s still fragrance-free! You just know Winter is coming when everyone starts pushing the barrier boost moisturizers formulas! Some work, some don’t but really if you’re having a dry, flaky moment the best thing you can do is use a little cheap AF CETAPHIL Rich Hydrating Night Cream and seal it up with CeraVe Healing Ointment or my personal fab is Futurewise Slug Balm. I just don’t know if I want to spend $59 onIt Cosmetics Confidence in a Cream Barrier Boost Skin Barrier Repair Daily Moisturizer. It Cosmetics in skincare is sort of like a stay in your lane type of feel for me. They’ve done like one skincare item I liked but the rest has a ton of fragrance and additives I just don’t want or need in my skincare. I think the cosmetics and of course, the legendary CC Cream and Concealer are total wins but the skincare is just eh for me.
But if you are interested their is a new It Cosmetics Confidence in a Cream Barrier Boost Skin Barrier Repair Daily Moisturizer which is available in a full-size for $59 or a mini for $23. This new formula is fragrance-free so that’s a yay for me! The claim to fame here is it provides up to 100 hours of hydration and strengthening to sooth sensitive skin and give it a bouncy, recovered finish. I do question the 100 hour claim. Are we not reapplying moisturizer every 12 or so hours? Is anyone waiting 100 hours between application that we need it to last 100 hours? These are the questions that keep me up at night.
According to It Cosmetics clinicals this moisturizer improved dry skin and provided smoother skin while reducing redness. It contains a Vitamin F complex which is the star of this formula as it’ll help with hydration but also, it’s anti-inflammatory which will sooth redness plus it’ll help to restore and repair skin. It also, incudes Niacinamide, Squalane, Shea, and Glycerin. But all this doesn’t really amount to that near $60 price tag ouch! The original Confidence in a Cream launched in 2016 and it was $48 so the price change isn’t too dramatic but I just feel like some mid-range brands lately are really headed into luxury pricing zones.
