Liam Payne had a steady music career with One Direction and his solo endeavors. Up until his death, he had invested a lot into his own finances.

Liam Payne died at the age of 31 in Buenos Aires, Argentina after an unexpected fall in his hotel room on October 16, 2024. The former One Direction member was reportedly vacationing in the South American country weeks after he saw former member Niall Horan perform.

He rose to fame after he auditioned for the singing competition the X Factor. He was placed in the boy group One Direction with Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, and Zayn Malik. The group was eliminated in third place, but went on to become one of the best-selling boy bands of all time, releasing five albums (four of which went number one on the Billboard 200 chart) and selling out arenas across the world on their four concert tours.

The group went on hiatus a year after Zayn Malik left the group. Liam debuted his solo career with the solo single “Strip That Down” featuring Quavo in May 2017, peaking at No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.

What was Liam Payne’s net worth?

Liam Payne’s net worth was $70 million according to Celebrity Net Worth. American tourist Michael Fleishmann told the Buenos Aires Herald that moments before his death, the One Direction member had a “very tense” conversation with a woman in Spanish at the CasaSur lobby. “I’ll give you $20,000 just because I can. I have $55 million and I like to help people,” the “Strip That Down” singer repeatedly said.

A month before his death, Liam Payne urged his fans to donate to charity. “I’ve always felt lucky for the position I’m in, he said in a SnapChat video. “My life aspiration was to be a superhero but I can’t fly, I’m not a great mechanic, I wasn’t affected by radiation and and I’m not incredibly strong.”

He continued, “All I know is that there are websites out there to donate to sick children that need your help. It doesn’t matter how small or how big the donation is, all that matters is you looking in that child’s eyes.”
