Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa ’71 Body Cream is about to drop so let’s celebrate with a little dupe! I thought I’d haul out the MCo Beauty No. 4 Fragrance Mist for Hair and Body that I recently purchased and review it for you and we can see if it really is a dupe for Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa ’71. As you may already know I happen to adore Cheirosa ’71! Sure the original Cheirosa scent is my beloved but second places go to Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa ’71! It smells so yummy! Warm, nutty, vanilla, caramel, a true gourmand’s dream fragrance and unlike newer releases it maintains that tropical vibe that I love about the brand!
MCo Beauty recently dropped four dupes of Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa Fragrance Mists and one of them is Cheirosa ’71. Of course, I had to see for myself if this smelled like the original plus did I mention it’s under $16 (buy on amazon.com and save 10% with code 79OXYK34L5GQ). Sol de Janeiro charges $25 but a 3 oz size so, the price is a bit nicer.
MCo Beauty isn’t only duping Sol de Janeiro for cheap! They’re busy duping Dior, Milk Beauty, Summer Friday’s, and many other brands. But I digress, let’s get back to this MCo Beauty No. 4 Fragrance Mist review. As you can see it comes in the same clear bottle with a white cap as Sol de Janeiro. It even has the MCo Beauty logo embossed on the cap much like Sol de Janeiro does. The bottle is a smidge lighter compared to Sol de Janeiro! I just felt their bottle was made out of a heavier plastic but I’m honestly not complaining in the least about that.
Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa ’71 is a warm, sweet gourmand with notes of caramelized vanilla, toasted macademia nut, white chocolate, tonka bean, coconut blossom, and sea salt.. MCo Beauty No. 4 Fragrance Mist has notes of Caramel, Macadamia, White Chocolate, and Sea Salt. No, they don’t have the same exact notes however, MCo Beauty No. 4 is an exact, EXCACT duplication of Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa ’71. I’ve run into my share of dupes across the market for Sol de Janeiro fragrances, Tom Ford ones, etc..etc..! We are knee deep in the fragrance dupe culture at the moment and many, many brands have been creating exact duplications of many high-end fragrances (and even mid-range ones like this one). That being said, I always find something a little off or different about them. This one is EXACTLY like the original. It’s not a cousin or a distant friend it’s a twin! And dare I say this but it actually seems stronger and longer wearing than the original. It’s a beautiful cocktail of nutty caramel and vanilla that smells warm and tropical! Perfection and just as wonderful as the original with a longer, stronger wear and scent bubble not to mention cheaper.
One thing I will mention is if you have asthma or allergies this comes off a little weird first mist. I think it’s because it doesn’t give off the alcohol before fragrance. You head right into fragrance first mist so it sort of hits you in the face, tickles your nose, and makes you sneeze! I do think if you have breathing issues or allergies it might cause a little drama during the initial spray!
All in all, I AM VERY happy with this purchase. It smells incredible and exactly like the original! MCo Beauty No. 4 Fragrance Mist is available now!
