According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a motorist gave a call to the Canton Dispatch Center to inform them about an injured kitten. The motorist discovered the cat on the side of Stark County’s I-77 highway on August 21.
As per Fox 8, the motorist said in the call, “It looks like there’s a cat that’s alive.” After that, Justin Smith, a trooper from the Canton Post of Ohio State Highway Patrol, went on to locate the little kitten. Constantly assuring the cat that “it’s okay,” Smith rescued her from the busy highway and took her to the police car to bring the feline to safety.
The injured cat received treatment at the Stark County Veterinary Emergency Clinic, after which the Stark County Humane Society took her in and looked after her. Within the next month of the kitten’s rescue, a man visited the Stark County Humane Society. Later, the man adopted the little feline and provided her with a loving family and a fur-ever home. The adopter also decided to give her a new name, Lola.
