Too Faced Born This Way Warm Ember Nudes Mini Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Too Faced Born This Way Warm Ember Nudes Mini Eyeshadow Palette ($29) is one of two new complexion-inspired mini eyeshadow palettes containing six eyeshadows that launched with the Too Faced Summer 2024 Makeup Collection. The palettes are inspired by “the beautiful nuances of real skin tones” but I don’t select an eyeshadow palette based on what goes well with my skin. I’m not sure if I’m in the minority over here but typically I buy and wear what I like and of course, I’ll always have that moment where I think a certain shade like green or brown goes great with my eye color but not so much my skin tone. That being said I got a chance to try these out and decided to share my review and swatches and I have to say I was pretty surprised.

Too Faced Born This Way Warm Ember Nudes Mini Eyeshadow Palette arrives in a cardboard and plastic palette with a small click clasp to keep it securely closed. The surround of the palette is a hard cardboard whereas the palette inside is plastic and holds a nicely sized mirror. It’s not a magnetic palette which I appreciate as the clasp inside clicks closed for a more secure hold! This will prove nice if you travel with it. The palette has three smaller eyeshadows that are 0.01 oz each and three larger ones at 0.04 oz each. I know having inconsistent and different-sized pans in a shadow palette is a pet peeve for some folks but I don’t mind a palette that isn’t uniform in size so this isn’t bugging me. Plus Too Faced has always embraced this layout style which I’m sure we’re all fairly familiar with. Too Faced launched their original Born This Way The Natural Nudes Eyeshadow Palette in Spring 2020 and later on created another version called the Born This Way Sunset Stripped Eyeshadow Palette for Spring 2022. Both are beautiful palettes and at the time were $45 each and later went up to $52. The Too Faced Born This Way Mini Eyeshadow Palettes are sort of expensive as those two palettes each had $16 shades each with a total of 0.5 oz of shadow inside where as this palette has a total of 0.15 oz. The other two palettes contain almost twice as much at an extra $22 not to mention way more variety. I will say that I do appreciate a smaller palette as I can sometimes be overwhelmed by shadow palettes with a slew of shades and the older I get the more I appreciate single shades or even trios. This contains six shades and you can get either two detailed looks from those shadows or even a lot of everyday looks by combining different textures and shades from the palette. I’m not particularly in love with the price but I will say the formula isn’t too bad at all and isn’t a disappointment.
Shades include:

Rose-ty Toasty
Sizzle
Golden Girl
Warm Ember
Cream Puff
Bring the Heat

The palette features two finishes one of which is a soft, silky matte. I can see myself hitting pan on every single one of these. They’re easy to apply, super soft, silky, and pigmented with no fall-out issues. Warm Ember is a beautiful medium brown and Bring the Heat is a reddish brown. Both are very flattering on my eyes. Cream Puff is a cooler light pink. These shades give you the option of creating a warmer look or a cooler one with the pretty rose and pink shades. However, I will say they don’t offer anything innovative or new in the shade range that Too Faced typically offers.
The other three shades are a pressed pigment formula with a sparkly finish. Golden Girl has a more super fine shimmery finish whereas Sizzle and Rose-ty Toasty reminds me of a MAC Pressed Pigment consistency with a chunkier consistency. I thought all three applied best using my finger particularly Rose-ty Toasty and Sizzle which were chunkier and a bit more difficult to pick up with a brush! These both had a bit of fall out as well when using a brush but I had no issues with finger application.
One thing I did notice about this palette is it isn’t chocolate-scented. A lot of the Too Faced Eyeshadow Palettes smell like chocolate but someone needs to smell it and tell me if I’m right or not as this smells like sun tan lotion to me. It’s sort of a tropical scent! It doesn’t linger but if do put your nose close and take a big sniff you’ll smell Summer.

All the shadows were quite pigmented and they created quite a lovely look. The shade selection was very flattering on my eyes. The Too Faced Born This Way Warm Ember Nudes Mini Eyeshadow Palette is a cute little pick up and might be a nice addition to add to your collection when its on sale which it is at macys.com using code VIP or you can wait for the big Sephora Spring Savings Event coming this Friday!

Too Faced Born This Way Warm Ember Nudes Mini Eyeshadow Palette is one of two new Summer 2024 6-pan eyeshadow palettes. These consist of three shadows that are 0.01 oz each and three that are 0.04 oz which makes the palette a little pricey at $29 (although, there are sales at the moment like at macys.com where it is $24). Pricing aside I was very pleased with the overall performance of the shadows in this palette. There are three soft, silky mattes apply beautifully and there are three more chunkier sparkly shadows. These resemble more of a pressed pigment texture and did have some fall out and presented a bit of a problem when picking up with a brush. I thought they applied best using my finger which minimized fall out and resulted in smoother color. All six shades had excellent pigmentation and remained crease-free on my dry eyes all day without the use of a primer.

Beautiful, wearable shades for everyday looks.
Pigmented.
Excellent formula with a small amount of fallout but nothing that couldn’t be prevented by using a finger.

Pricy for the size and selection of shades.

If you’re a minimalist and prefer a smaller eyeshadow palette you might get on very well with the new Too Faced Born This Way Warm Ember Nudes Mini Eyeshadow Palette.
